My Return To Blogging

I have been away for a while and would like to share an insight as to why I stopped blogging for such an extended amount of time. During the height of the Obama administration's madness (shoving socialist bills and laws down our throats) I was very active and very vocal. During one particularly vocal week, my wife expressed a genuine concern for my safety. She truly felt that I was being too vocal against the administration and that something would happen to me, at the very least I would be arrested for my outspoken views. Now everyone that has followed my blogs know that I have never advocated violence against anyone so it would not be for that reason. My wife doesn't follow politics much but was feeling a genuine fear for my safety.

After a hiatus and only being outspoken around like minded family and friends I came to a conclusion: I simply cannot be silent. If this country that we all love so much has or is coming to the point that voices of dissent are to be silenced then what does that say? Surely we are not yet to that point. Do I think we may one day reach that point? Unfortunately I do. Do I fear for my safety? Absolutely not! If the Country I love turns the powers that be against me then so be it. I will denounce the power grab by this administration as long as I have breath in my lungs.

Once in the great history of our nation, men of every background dared to speak out against the tyranny of a King. Some of those great men paid a high price, the ultimate price, for their beliefs in a great nation being born. I am not comparing myself to these great men in the least. But I am willing to pay that price to keep this once proud nation great.

In the words of Ronald Reagan, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." How can I look my children in the eye, the same children that I have raised as patriots, and have the knowledge that this country fell on my watch?

In closing I would like to pose another great Ronald Reagan quote: "Let us be sure that those who come after will say of us in our time, that in our time we did everything that could be done. We finished the race; we kept them free; we kept the faith." Can you truly say the same to the generation to follow?
